Whistle-blowers are central to our work as an anti-corruption organisation. We cannot hope to succeed in eradicating corruption without acknowledging the role and plight of whistle-blowers who are brave enough to expose it, and working towards improving the environment and advocating for changes that ensure their protection, at all costs.
One of the ways in which we have done this was through our recent participation in the 947 Ride Joburg cycle challenge. This event is the biggest annual celebration of cycling in the country and is also a platform for charities and non-government organisations to fundraise for their causes.
With the help of our team of riders and the Ekurhuleni Cycling Club, we used the 947 Ride Joburg cycle challenge as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for our work with whistle-blowers, and highlight the challenges that they face. It is thanks to your generous donations that we were able to raise R107 000 which will significantly help us sustain our work with whistle-blowers.
A huge thank you to all those who donated and continue to support our work. Our aim has always been to rally the public against corruption and to offer solutions to safeguard and improve the country’s systems against corruption.
We are taking our work with whistle-blowers further, and will be collaborating with the Platform to Protect Whistle-blowers in Africa (PLAAF) and other key whistle-blower groups in 2023.
