Requirement Overview

The deputy auditor-general is head of administration of the office of the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) in terms of section 32 of the Public Audit Act, subject to the directions of the auditor-general.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key to the role is the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives. The deputy auditor-general leads the attainment of organisational objectives through strategic and tactical management of people, processes, product and financial aspects of the organisation.

Experience

At least 10 years of executive leadership experience in an auditing profession, public sector or commerce and industry

Qualifications and professional bodies

CA (SA) – South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
or
ACCA – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
