Fifa executive D'Hooghe cleared of corruption
Fifa executive committee member Michel D'Hooghe has been cleared of corruption by an investigation into the bidding for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Poll: corruption ‘very serious’ problem in New York government
A majority of New York state registered voters want part-time legislators to be required to fully disclose the sources and nature of their outside income, according to a poll to be published Tuesday by Siena College.The poll also found that 51% of respondents believe that corruption is a “very serious” problem in state government. A similar percentage believe that a set of proposals by New York governnor Andrew Cuomo, including some that address outside-income disclosure, would reduce such corruption. wsj.com

Zambia's former mines minister was convicted of corruption on Monday for his role in the award of prospecting licences to a Chinese mining company in 2009.Delivering judgment in the matter, magistrate Lameck Mwale said the prosecution had proved that Maxwell Mwale interfered in the award of licences to Zhonghui International Mining Group. Egypt Mubarak-era ministers acquitted
A court in Egypt has cleared former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif and former Interior Minister Habib al-Adly of corruption charges at a retrial. The two men were accused of illegally profiteering from a deal with a German firm to import vehicle number plates.
