The murder of whistle-blower Babita Deokaran is a gruesome reminder of the dangers faced by those who risk their lives and livelihoods in order to expose corruption in South Africa. It is a moment to pause and assess our country’s efforts to protect whistle-blowers – who play a critical role in our pursuit for a corruption-free society.
