Persona survey
One of our key activities for the campaign is to develop a persona or ideal model of a deputy public protector based on public opinion. We aim to use this persona to inform and guide a public nominations process, as well as to facilitate dialogue on the expectations of a deputy public protector.
This persona will hopefully be able to guide nominees in their understanding of the roles and responsibilities which they could assume.
Crowd-voting
A key component of Bua Mzansi is the crowd-voting aspect that enables the public to make a recommendation to the executive, alongside the National Assembly, on the preferred candidate to serve as the new deputy public protector.
We currently have a toll-free call centre hotline that the public can call for more information about the campaign, as well as to cast a vote. In keeping the voting electronic, we will avoid human errors that would normally occur when handling ballots and ballot boxes.
Opinion poll
Government can’t be allowed to make this important appointment without oversight from the public. The Bua Mzansi campaign will succeed with the participation of ordinary South Africans as they exercise their constitutional right.
